Thank you for looking into Southwest Metro Taxi. We serve as a quick and easy means of transportation around and across the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. As our name indicates, we have a concentration area in the Southwest Metro which includes Shakopee, Chaska, Prior Lake and Savage among other cities in that surrounding area.
The act of flagging down a cab is called "hailing"; cabs in the suburbs rarely use this form of connecting with customers, we tend to get phone calls for your transportation needs.
Southwest Metro Taxi cabs are required to take you to your destination inside the metropolitan area. Record the ID number from any cabs that you have problems with and report them to the Southwest Metro Taxi Commission at 612-747-3022.
Taxi Fares
Cabs are cash only (exceptions for emergencies set up in advance) and it's a good idea to have small bills because the cabbies can't usually break anything higher than $20. While cabs are relatively expensive for a single person, they can actually be a bargain with 3 or more riders. The rates for taxicabs are as follows:
